In view of the recent events surrounding Greece's economic turmoil, who not too long ago hosted the Summer Olympics, do you think the FIFA World Cup in South Africa will give the country's economy a boost or run them into debt? Why?

As South Africa is not a rich country and as they have spent huge amounts of money on building stadiums for this World Cup, it is quite possible that this event run them into debt.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you. I believe this will run them into debt as well. It's unfortunate that the hosts of events like this have to suffer for their efforts. Which makes one wonder if the companies who profit the most should't be asked to make some kind of donation to the host country.
